I live in Camden, NJ, which is VERY bad! It is nothing but drug dealers, murders, shootings, ect. When my daughter and I first moved here, 10 years ago, we moved into Historical Fairview Villiage. It was a nice little place to live. However, it has now became so bad with the murders and drugs, that my daughter cant even walk down the street or ride her bike anymore. (Picture is of my daughter and our dog).

Luckily, I was able to put her into the Camden County Vo Tech School, so she doesnt have to attend Camden Public Schools. We want to move out of this dangerous area so bad!

However, I cant afford to move. I am a single mom of one teenage girl, who is 15. Her father has never been in the picture and has never paid support. I do work full time, at night as a nanny. I live paycheck to paycheck, and cant even afford to pay all of our bills. We dont even have cable because we cant afford it.

I need some money in order to be able to move. I know I wont get any of my security deposit back here, because we have lived here for 10 years and we have 2 little dogs. So things will need to be fixed. I can barely afford my rent here as it is. We live in an apartment, and I really want to move into a house in a safer city, that is also closer to where I work so I can save gas. I have seen 2 bedroom houses for rent for about the same thing I pay for rent on my apartment, so I know I will be able to find a place. I would love a house with a fenced in yard for my dogs to be able to play in, and I would love to be able to stop worrying about my daughter every morning when she walks to her bus stop. There are a lot of gangs around where we live and I am just terrified something will happen to my gorgeous daughter. She is a very pretty girl and she does get lots of attention from men.

It scares me. She is home alone all night long while I am at work. I leave before she gets home every day and I am sleeping in the morning when she gets up and leaves for school. I really want to rent a house closer to where I work, since it is a very quiet, small town with hardly any crime. Also, if it were close to where I work, my daughter could come over at night and hang out with me at the house where I am a nanny. My boss doesnt mind at all when I bring my daughter over. I would love to be able to see my daughter more and know that when she is home alone at night, that she is in a safe neighborhood and I dont have to worry.

Camden was just recently rated Americas #1 most dangerous city in the US. It wasnt bad when we first moved here, but now it is terrible. My lease is up the end of March. If I can raise some money to rent a U-Haul and money for a security deposit, I would FINALLY be able to move.I think about $1000 would help me to get out of here. If I cant raise it, I will have to renew my lease for yet another year.

Every day I worry if my daughter will be safe when she leaves our apartment.

This is just no way to live. If anyone is willing to help fullfill mine and my daughter's dream to move to a safer city and neighborhood, it sure would be a blessing to us. We dont have anyone to help us out. It's just her and I on our own. We will be stuck here forever if we cant get some help.
