September 9th is my 40th birthday and being able to take Cody on this trip is all I want for my birthday or Christmas or any other gift-giving opportunity :-) Whether you choose to contribute with money or just by sharing the dream, your energy is much appreciated!

Terry and I are going to Africa (Kenya and Ethiopia) in the beginning of 2009 to fulfill a long time dream of ours to experience the culture first hand and make a difference. We have been inspired by organizations like Rotary, UNICEF, Plan Canada, Make Poverty History and the Stephen Lewis Foundation. We have supported a micro-lending project in Ethiopia and will be visiting other projects while we are there with the intention of supporting a project on an ongoing basis.

I know this will be a life altering experience for me and I dream of sharing it with my boys. Cody is at the ideal age and is excited about the prospect. It is expensive to get there, but I truly believe that this experience will shake his world and help shape him to be an even more compassionate, expansive, globally minded young man.
