I decided to give up flying last year to reduce my carbon footprint and since then we have been indulging in "staycations" which would be great except the weather for the last two summers here has been rubbish (even by English standards). It is hard to maintain a commitment to ending global warming when you can't leave the house without a coat and the only view of the beach is through the hood of your anorak! I'm really missing the poolside drinks and palm fringed beaches and so have decided my dream is to install a hot tub on my currently overgrown patio.
