In truth, it's my dream to pay off 100% of my student loans, but the maximum one can list a dream at here on DreamBank is $20,000, so I can only pay off 1/3 of mine in this dream.

I once had a dream to become a scientist. And, after 11 years of post-secondary in which I completed my B.Sc. in Biochemistry, and my M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Nutrition, I managed to achieve that dream. But that dream came not only at a cost of blood, sweat & tears - but also massive student loans. Despite combining scholarships and working at least one job (sometimes two) at all times, I still required student loans to cover the rising costs of tuition, books and living. I've been working at paying off these loans and, over a year into repayment, I still owe over $60,000 - which will take me another 8 years to pay off. And it really is my dream to pay them off before 2016!

For my associated charity, I have selected Kiva Microfinancing. I chose to pursue an education to make a better life for myself, so I think that supporting an organization that provides microfinancing opportunities to help other people make a better life for themselves as well was a good fit.
